My Story

I'll never forget the day I began to truly own who I was in my senior year of high school in 2011...

I came out as bisexual amidst homophobia, racism and ableism at Fargo South High when my classmates made blatant attempts to contact the Westboro Baptist Church. I was told it would be tough to expose this, and that it was highly likely I wouldn't come out a hero but for me it wasn't ever about being recognized. It's always been doing the right thing. Back then, I was Sara Siqueiros. And I exited Fargo South doing the right thing and was even hilariously forgotten from the "We'11 Never Forget" yearbook even after jumping through hoops to get my school year picture submitted.

You'd think the crazy stuff would be over...but then I would meet Rebecca Gardner, a professor at Minnesota State University teaching Speech who had sent a letter in support of my situation at Fargo South... who would then attempt to censor my informative speech on the history of racism in immigration policy in the United States. Trouble likes to look for people like me but I've never gone down without a fight, and I managed to graduate from Minnesota State University in August 2016 with a Bachelor's in Science, studying in Art & Anthropology. I also came out during this time as trans, and figured my sexuality was more complex than I thought so I was going with queer so I couldn't be pinned for any future changes.

Throughout high school and college; I've illustrated editorials for the High Plains Reader in Fargo, created a custom audiobook now on SoundCloud in Audacity (During that senior year of  high school of 2011 when I was getting home tutored after leaving early to avoid the queer/biphobia at the time), and started my experience in audio work at KPPP-LP Fargo-Moorhead, 88.1 FM. At KPPP-LP, I host the LGBT show Finding Me focusing on queer news, commentary and issues with an intersectional perspective in mind as a disabled queer trans man of color.

I've loved drawing & illustrating ever since I was a kid, playing video games, watching cartoons and anime, and listening to a few songs on repeat for an hour to soak in the lyrics or chords. I also developed a wonderful skill in baking pastries, pies and cookies with my favorite things to make involving chocolate and having kick ass lattice game. I hope you enjoy watching me continue to go through life or take part in supporting the work I do.
